We're Still Here Part 1

I'm pretty sure this is the longest I've gone without updating the blog.
Not because I don't still love doing it.
Just because life comes first.
And also because I love taking pictures
and have too many to edit.
And also because I got my very first smart phone in September
which means I'm taking even more pictures than before.
So, let's see if I can weed through the past 4 months.
Here goes...

We made a few more trips to Pelican's
before they closed for the season.

Owen's first day of Preschool!
He cried at drop-off for the first 4 days,
but now he absolutely loves it!

Still riding Sammy

playing on the playground while Ethan rides

Ethan walking his laps at the
Boosterthon Fun Run

He walked 12 laps!

Owen loves to hop up front with me
when we're in the drop-off line at preschool
so he can help me drive the car.

Owen and Hudson have to make a trip to see the donkey
every week during hippo therapy.

and eating apple donuts

They all wanted to ride in the little wagon together.

This was our first year trying Sky Top Orchard,
and we all loved the bamboo forest.

Another play date with Willie and Brinley - tree climbing

One of Owen's favorite activities -- helping Pop make coffee.

a rainy day in downtown Rock Hill

we love climbing rocks

and playing with sticks

Our friend, Knox came for a visit from Florence
and the boys had lots of fun playing together...
especially with the hairdryers in the bathroom.

Johnny Appleseed week at school

The only thing Owen REALLY wanted for his birthday
this year was a big tub of cheese balls.
Every time we go to the store he takes them off the shelf
and tries to put them in my cart.

Ethan is really into riding his bike these days
and has gotten so much better at steering himself.

Our friends Ellen and Hudson invited us
for an afternoon on the boat.
The boys took out their binoculars and searched for the
boat that was on its way to pick us up.

Hudson's Pop let the boys drive his boat
and they LOVED it!

Ethan sneaking a drink of Daddy's tea

Owen loves to "drive" the car

Ethan likes going to the mall to walk around
and people watch.  And he always makes a run for
the outdoor water fountain on our way out.

Ethan typed this sentence all by himself at school.

watching Yaya's soccer game

standing practice with Pop

Walking on the greenway behind Pop and Nana's house
and throwing rocks over the bridge into the river.

Ethan chose to be a librarian for Career Day.

at the Greenway Fall Festival

wearing Ms. Tammy's funny glasses during his haircut

Owen got to bring show and tell and snack
to celebrate his birthday at preschool.
A few weeks before Ethan had show and tell at his school
and he brought his light-up bouncy balls.
So guess what Owen chose to bring for his show and tell...

Willie's birthday party at Noah's Art

Owen's birthday party officially started
with a bowl of cheese balls for each of the cousins.

making pine cone bird feeders

"wagon rides"

Owen's birthday party isn't complete
without lots of leaf pile jumping.

We let the boys eat chocolate ice cream for breakfast
on Owen's birthday.  Ethan said,
"The is the BEST birthday EVER!"

watching the birds eat the birdseed on their bird feeders

We made another trip to the Greenway Fall Festival.
And Owen had his first ride on a full-sized horse.

he was holding on tight

and another picnic lunch at Hall Family Farm

Ethan enjoying his yummy sucker reward for a good day at school

The boys loved the NC State Fair so much last year
that we decided to take them again this year.

First stop...ham biscuits for breakfast.

Ethan's motto is, "the faster, the better"

And I had to have a Krispy Kreme hamburger for lunch.

Ethan and Tim rode this ride

this was the view from where they were

He took a picture of us waving at him.

Ethan's first time on the bumper cars

We saw our friend, Jill who went to school with us at Gardner-Webb!
