Easter & Ethan's First Day of School

We started celebrating Easter last weekend when Grandma Sink and Grandpa Veeck came down for Ethan's birthday. We had a little Easter egg hunt outside the apartment and after the first two eggs, Ethan really got the hang of it.

Ethan's basket on Easter morning - Can you tell he loves Sesame Street?

Then, we went for our second easter egg hunt at Pop and Nana's house. Here is Cara with her bag for collecting easter eggs.

Today was Ethan's first day of preschool! Here he is with his new bookbag. Notice the three green beads on the front - Nana took some of her beads from Ghana and sewed them on his bookbag in case others had the same one. When we showed up today, there was another boy with the exact same bookbag -- so now they won't get mixed up.

Walking through the halls for the first time. Ethan did very well and was watching all the other kids walking around the room. Mom, of course, didn't do as well. It is really hard leaving your child with someone you don't know at all. I guess I'll get used to it, but lets just say that lots of tears were shed and it wasn't one of my favorite experiences as a mom.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Ethan!

We had a little birthday party for Ethan's 3rd birthday this past Saturday. The plan was to have a picnic since Ethan loves to play at the park, but there was lots of rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, so we adjusted plans the day before and moved the party to Pop and Nana's house. Grandma Sink and Grandpa Veeck came down from Raleigh and spent the weekend with us too! Here are a few (actually a lot) of pictures from the party.

Aunt Allie made lots of cupcakes for everyone to decorate and here, Ethan is choosing which flavor he wanted. Of course, he chose the home-made strawberry cake - a Nahm family favorite!

Daddy helped Ethan ice and decorate his cupcake and Ethan even blew out his own candle!

Since we were indoors, we planned a few indoor activities for the kids

And Cara, of course, didn't need any planned activities as she has fun just eating dirt.
