In The Past Few Weeks
In the past few weeks we...
went to Plaza Fiesta for a little inside play when it was too cold to play outside
went down the big slide with Pop,
looked terrified the whole way down,
and then immediately said, "MORE" when we got to the bottom
went down the middle slide all together (mommy, Ethan & Owen)
fell asleep while eating lunch
(I always heard of kids doing this, but never thought either of my
sleepless children would ever be tired enough to do it. I was wrong.)
stole Ethan wedge cushion to watch a little Elmo
(Ethan uses this cushion whenever watching TV to help strengthen his core
and keep him in a better sitting position. Owen has seen Ethan sitting on it many times and now, whenever I turn on a DVD, Owen picks up the cushion and sits down before Ethan can get to it. I've started making him a "cushion" with the couch pillows next to Ethan and he seems ok with it for now.)
started coloring the creative coloring castle that Aunt Jenny gave us for Christmas
climbed up anything we could get our hands on,
especially if mommy said, "no"
played outside in a few different parking lots while Ethan was in therapy
got creative and started running up and down the ramp outside of Touchstone
(Since Ethan is in therapy there for 2 hours, we usually try to find things to do in the area while we're waiting for Ethan to finish. This has become one of Owen's favorite past-times. He acts like he's running down a huge hill and I laugh out loud
every time he does it.)
went flying on daddy's shoulders
got to wear a new cute sweater from Ms. Margaret
learned lots of new body parts, including "hair"
and even tried to comb it ourself
tried to sit forward facing in our new carseat,
only to throw up two separate times from carsickness
(I took this picture after he fell asleep while we were stuck in traffic, which thankfully kept him from throwing up that time. If anyone has tips for helping carsick kids who can't tell you they're about to throw up, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!)
had a gender reveal cake for lunch with Aunt Allie & Yaya
(Allison had already told our parents & Cara what she was having,
so the cake was really just for me!)
and the icing is....PINK!
and read A LOT of books, over and over and over again
(Owen takes after his big brother and LOVES to read. Whenever we're in his room he gets a book off the bookshelf and climbs up into the chair to read. Here, he is reading the book "Funny Face," which was one of Ethan's favorite books when he was Owen's age.)
making the "surprised" funny face
