Apple Pickin'
We've picked blueberries, peaches, blackberries, strawberries and pumpkins, but believe it or not, we've never been apple picking -- until this past weekend. Ethan had a great time picking apples and putting them in the wagon (great occupational therapy, by the way). As you can see in the pictures, Cara spent the whole time eating apples. Before this weekend, Ethan had never eaten an apple whole. A few months ago he just started tolerating the texture of apples in his mouth, but we always cut them up into bite-size pieces for him. He had an aversion to biting into the apple whole. But I think watching Cara chow down on those apples inspired Ethan to try it himself and he did a GREAT job! It was the highlight of my trip - watching him eat that apple with all his might! We also got a few pumpkins for the porch and ate some dangerously yummy hot apple donuts! I think we're going to have to make this trip a tradition for sure.
