Easter & Ethan's First Day of School

We started celebrating Easter last weekend when Grandma Sink and Grandpa Veeck came down for Ethan's birthday. We had a little Easter egg hunt outside the apartment and after the first two eggs, Ethan really got the hang of it.

Ethan's basket on Easter morning - Can you tell he loves Sesame Street?

Then, we went for our second easter egg hunt at Pop and Nana's house. Here is Cara with her bag for collecting easter eggs.

Today was Ethan's first day of preschool! Here he is with his new bookbag. Notice the three green beads on the front - Nana took some of her beads from Ghana and sewed them on his bookbag in case others had the same one. When we showed up today, there was another boy with the exact same bookbag -- so now they won't get mixed up.

Walking through the halls for the first time. Ethan did very well and was watching all the other kids walking around the room. Mom, of course, didn't do as well. It is really hard leaving your child with someone you don't know at all. I guess I'll get used to it, but lets just say that lots of tears were shed and it wasn't one of my favorite experiences as a mom.

Yes Mom always cries more than the child on the first day.But things will get better when he comes home and tells you all about his day and what he learns....

Agree. It will get better. I knew the first day was going to be rough. You have put so much into him.

Thanks for the immediate pictures. I am sure the teachers will provide you with what he is learning so you can augment. You are so good at that.

Maybe you should have been the one with the magic rock and a kiss in the palm of your hand to hold onto!

I remember another little boy who loved Sesame Street also. Do you remember who that was Tim?
